Sarah Wolcott
Born and raised in Batavia, Sarah Wolcott embodies the grit, compassion, and determination of Western New York. A proud graduate of Genesee Community College, she values education and practical life experience.
As a blue-collar worker, Sarah knows firsthand the dignity of labor and the challenges faced by working families. Her life is a testament to perseverance. She balances demanding shifts at work with community service. She’s organized food drives, led protests, and donates plasma weekly to help others in need. After organizing community events and hearing from neighbors who feel underrepresented, she realized that creating real local change requires more. It depends on having a seat at the table.
That’s why she’s running for New York State Assembly. She wants to amplify the voices of everyday people, challenge performative politics, and deliver tangible results for her community. Her campaign is rooted in empathy, equity, and action. She’s not a politician, she’s your neighbor who rolls up her sleeves and gets things done.
Whether it’s fighting for affordable healthcare, protecting workers’ rights, or ensuring that rural communities aren’t left behind, Sarah brings lived experience, moral clarity, and relentless drive that's so desperately needed in politics right now. NYS Assembly District 139
New York’s 139th Assembly District spans a broad stretch of western New York defined by its rural character, small towns, and deep agricultural roots. The district includes all of Genesee and Orleans counties, along with portions of Monroe and Erie counties.
Beyond agriculture, our district blends quiet countryside with pockets of industry and small manufacturing. We enjoy access to natural areas, including wildlife refuges, rolling fields, and waterways that support fishing, boating, and outdoor recreation. Our land is a part of who we are and protecting it means protecting our way of life.
New York State Public Campaign Finance Matching Funds Program
About Matching Funds: The New York State Public Campaign Finance Program was voted into law in April 2020 with amendments and program structure changes passed in June 2023. The system, which covers statewide and state legislative offices, began allowing participation for state legislative candidates in the 2024 election cycle and for statewide offices in the 2026 election cycle.
Purpose: The purpose of the program is to increase the influence of small donors and reduce reliance on large contributions. It helps candidates of modest economic means to run for office. Candidates must reach a specific threshold of dollars raised from a specified minimum number of donors within the district to qualify for matching funds.
Threshold to Qualify: Sarah Wolcott’s campaign must raise at least $4,000 from at least 75 in-district individuals to qualify for PCF funding. NY Assembly District 139 includes all of Genesee and Orleans counties, along with portions of Monroe and Erie counties. Click here to find your NY Assembly District. If you are an out-of-district resident, your contribution won't be matched by the PCF but it is still greatly appreciated and it will make a difference!
Matching Ratios: Contributions between $5 and $250 will be matched as follows when the Wolcott campaign reaches the qualifying threshold. Less than $5 will not be matched; $251 or more will not be matched.
$5 to $50 will be matched 12 to 1
$51 to $150 will be matched 9 to 1
$151 to $250 will be matched 8 to 1
